We reageren op situaties met lichamelijke sensaties die meestal niet alleen met de ervaring in het hier & nu te maken hebben, maar die meestal ook gekleurd zijn door onze oude ervaringen. Bij lichaamswerk gaat het erom de wijsheid van het lichaam te ontsluiten: de informatie die het in zich draagt over onverwerkte ontwikkeltrauma's alsmede hoe het 'systeem' zichzelf op psychofysiologisch niveau kan helen. Lichaamswerk kan deel uitmaken van opstellingen en persoonlijk proceswerk, en gaat altijd over het creëren van veilige condities voor het verwerken van ontwikkeltrauma‛s.
